Chicago

Chicago is the third largest city in the United States, after New York and Los Angeles.  It is famous for skyscrapers and gangsters, sports teams and art. Perhaps most importantly, Chicago is the birthplace of Yoga in the United States! Swami Vivekananda introduced Yoga to a highly engaged audience on September 11, 1893 at the Parliament of World Religions, which was a part of the Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition.

Global Family Yoga was originally based in Chicago and this diverse city is near and dear to us, as it is for many in our community.  If Chicago is home, you will smile at the familiar references.  If not, you will learn fascinating facts about the “second city” or, “windy city” – named so for its politics, not the weather!

Children interested in buildings, sports and transportation will love this theme.  It’s a stabilizing practice great for children ages 6 years old and up.
