We use lots of books and music in children's Yoga classes.  Sometimes we theme an entire class around a book we love.  This plan was developed for use with The Great Race - The Story of the Chinese Zodiac by Dawn Casey.  This is a common legend and you may find another version in your local library.  It is not required to have a book to use this lesson plan.  In the plan, you will find a link to a video telling the tale.

This lesson is suited to children ages 4-12 and families who practice together.  It's perfect for a Chinese New Year class but can easily be modified for use throughout the year.  It is a practice that can help improve focus and attention.
