This lesson plan is based on a picture book written and drawn by Lynne Cherry. The lush imagery beautifully depicts the fate of a great tree growing in the Amazon Rain Forest and all the creatures that live in and around it.
With his lesson plan you can help children connect to nature while becoming more aware of their impact on it. Develop respect for the earth as a whole while learning a bit about the Amazon Rain Forest and the glorious animals in it.
There are several breathing exercises in this plan and it could be easily adapted to a classroom situation (kids in desks or with limited space) and/or for children with limited mobility.
This is an energizing practice ideal for children age 4-10 years old. Modifications for older kids are included.
