How Do I Get Certified?

Our programs are based on the understanding that each individual has different needs and interests.  We offer a variety of experiences from part-day workshops to eight-day intensives with options in between.  Whether you’re looking for an introduction to the benefits of yoga for children, or a 200-hour certification – we have a program for you.

Certification Program

In order to offer the most flexibility for those interested in obtaining a teacher’s training certificate focusing on children and families, Global Family Yoga offers three approaches.  You will recieve the same 200 hour curriculum regardless of the option you choose.

1) Weekends –
 
This is the most flexible option.  You will complete nine 20-hour weekend sessions, plus 20 hours of independent study.  Each session is integrative and complementary to the others so you can take them in any order that fits your schedule (with the exception of the Yoga Lab which requires at least two prior weekends as a prerequisite). Price:  $425 per session - $396 when registering more than 14 days prior (30 days for locations outside of the US)

2) 8-day Intensives –
 
We also offer a series of two 8-day intensives as an alternative to the weekend trainings.   If you have a more open schedule and a desire to accelerate the certification process – this is the route for you!  Each session provides 80 training hours.  The 20-hour Yoga Lab is taken after the completion of either of the 8-day intensives and fulfills the 180 hours of contact required for registration with the Yoga Alliance.  The curriculum is the same as that covered in the weekend sessions.

Price:  $1395 per session - $1295 when registering more than 21 days prior (30 days for locations outside of the US)

3) Combination –
 
Enjoy the best of both paths.  We’ll work with you to plan your curriculum to include one of the 8-day intensives and 5 of the weekend sessions.  You’ll benefit from some of the time and cost savings of the more intense program and still have lots of flexibility to ensure the program fits your lifestyle.

Price: will vary depending on early registration for the various sessions and other discounts that may apply.

A 20-hour independent practicum is an important requirement of the program, whichever path you take.  This is your chance to reflect on your personal yoga practice, philosophy, lifestyle and ethics.  The skills and techniques you have learned will be put into action as you facilitate classes in your community.  You will be personally mentored by our training director throughout this process. 

Price: $75

Each of our students is given a Final Assesment at the culmination of their training experience.  This assessment gives the student a chance to assimilate and express all they have learned through out the process and it allows us to assure that we are certifying the most highly qualified yoga teachers.  The holders of Global Family Yoga teacher training certificates can be confident that they are among the brightest and the best in the field.

In Summary

Requirements of the Global Family Yoga Teacher Training Certifiate Program:

• 180 contact hours (direct hours with Mira Binzen, E-RYT, Director of Training and other qualified trainers)
• 20 hours Independent Practicum (done in your own community during the certification process)
• Completed Final Assessment (done at the culmination of training requirements)
