Welcome

We’re glad you stopped by.  We created this site as an expanding resource for those who want to facilitate the inner and outer development of children.  Our links page will guide you to more quality websites and our blog will give you a place to share and learn with others who are interested in the wellness of children and families.

Global Family Yoga provides tools, based in the science and art of yoga, for nurturing the development of children into the happiest, healthiest and most well balanced individuals they can be.  These tools include various training programs for those who care for and about kids.  Parents, teachers, health care workers and other professionals who work with young people can benefit by augmenting their expertise with these techniques.

Now you can become a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance® AND become certified to teach yoga to children at the same time!  Once you've completed our comprehensive training, you will be a qualified RYT able to share the gift of yoga with both children and adults.

What's New?

Asia!  OK Asia is far from new but we're excited to be back.  In November we will be offering a family class and a workshop in Bangkok.  For the remainder of the year our Director of Training will be detoxifying, participating in a silent retreat, and generally preparing her body, mind and spirit to share with our students in 2009.

What's Next?

We are looking forward to releasing our Home Study Guide in early 2009.  This resource guide is for yoga instructors that would like information on ways to make yoga engaging and fun for children.  It includes the cautions and considerations of working with developing bodies/minds along with tips for creating a cooperative classroom and much more.  It will also be suitable for people in other fields who have experienced the benefits of yoga themselves and want to bring yogic techniques to their work with children.  This includes parents, educators, social workers, pediatric professionals and others.

More detailed information will be available at the beginning of the year.  If you would like to receive the release announcement you can join our mailing list by contacting us at info@globalfamilyyoga.org.
